I was driving a moving truck across the country to deliver a lady's household belongings to her new home in AZ. Entering NM I was ordered by the state police to stay here for the night (had been driving too long), they called ahead and informed the manager that I had been ordered to stay for the night, in other words, he could have easily overcharged me for the room and I would have had no choice but to pay it, but still only charged the normal room rate of 20$ for the night. The guy was unfailingly polite even stopping by the room later that night to see if I needed extra pillows or blankets. This place was so good, that if I am ever passing by this place again I would stay here without hesitation.
Nice enough place to stay, not a lot in the way of amenities but the room is nicely sized and furnished. You do get a TV but there's no ESPN... I know it sounds like a little thing but some people like their sports. If you like cats, you'll like it here - they roam the grounds but are either shy or approachable (not feral). Well priced, clean, comfortable. If you want a more polished hotel experience stay at a chain in Tucumcari - don't know how the prices compare though.
